Sweet antique shoes from the early 19th century. Pale peach silk with dainty embroidery. Button closure. Dry gentle signs of wear. Current size 6.5 - 7.5. Measures 9 7/8 inches inside from toe to heel. 3 inches wide at widest part. Heel is 2 inches.
Sorosis Shoes were manufactured by a company in Massachusetts in the late 19th and early 20th century. Their shoes became quite popular, leading to the brand opening shoe stores in the northeast. The Met has several pairs in their collection.
